Pat Jocius
Pat Jocius has been a Professional Emergency Manager for over 28 years in the Cities of Sunnyvale, Cupertino, and San Mateo and also Santa Clara County OES. She can be seen almost daily on Public Television promoting Citizen Emergency Preparedness. Pat has been a speaker at state, federal, and international conferences in Turkey, Italy, and at the United Nations in Switzerland. Pat specializes in training for vulnerable populations including children, seniors, and people with disabilities. She is the creator of the nationally award-winning "Dealing With Disasters" School Staff Training System, found at www.dealingwithdisasters.com. As a member of the FEMA USAR Search & Rescue Team, she responded to the Okalahoma City Bombing, as well the Loma Prieta Earthquake, assorted floods and the Oakland Hills Fire. Pat is a trainer for the state (CSTI) and obtained her BA in Communications from Brigham Young University, UT, and her Masters in Instructional Technology and Design from San José State University.
